Van Rental Guide Glasgow

INSURANCE:

If you are using your own company insurance, then this does not apply to you.

If you are using our insurance, then please note the following:

The insurance policy excess for vans is £500 and £1000 for trucks. This is the maximum amount you could be liable for should the vehicle incur any damage to the exterior or interior.

OUR POLICY DOES NOT COVER:

Theft or damage of any goods carried or stored in the vehicle.

Recovery costs in the event of an accident unless clearly a non-fault claim

Alternative transport or accommodation in the event of an accident

FUEL:

We operate a “same as” Policy, we simply ask that you return the vehicle with approximately the same fuel level as when you collected the vehicle. Our cost per litre will be more expensive than filling stations so we advise that you replenish the fuel before you return the vehicle. If you return the vehicle with more fuel then we will credit you the difference.

MILEAGE ALLOWANCE:

On daily rentals the mileage allowance is 250 miles free per day, excess miles will be charged out at 12p plus Vat per mile. For rentals that are 1 week or over miles are unlimited.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION:

We require to see you photocard drivers’ licence and the DVLA summary of your licence status, this will show us that your licence is valid, has the correct entitlements and any endorsements. We can check this when you collect the vehicle and we will require your national insurance number to proceed with the check, alternatively prior to collection you could email us your check code and national insurance number which will enable us to do this before you arrive. We also require 1 x recent (within 3 months) utility bill or bank statement that has the same address as your licence, if your licence is registered to an old address than we will require another recent additional form of supporting documentation listing your current address if you are a sole trader. If you are a listed company, then we require supporting evidence of trading e.g., companies house company number or recent supplier invoice, also a recent utility bill or bank statement and a company letterhead or business card with contact and invoicing details.

DEPOSIT:

A deposit of £200 must be paid on collection and must be paid with a debit or credit card. This is fully refundable upon the safe return of the vehicle with no damage and the correct fuel. Any additional miles done will be deducted from your deposit or will be paid separately.

OUT OF HOURS DROP OFF:

We have a secure key box for late returns, please ask on collection where the key box is and where to park the vehicle across the road – we strongly recommend that you photograph the vehicle in situ, any damage claimed to have happened whist parked there is still your responsibility.

IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT:

Please always do at least the following: Obtain the third parties registration number and full name. Take photographs of both vehicles preferably in situ where the contact happened. Obtain the third parties insurance details, name of insurer and their policy number. If you suspect anything suspicious about the third party, then call the police. Check the vehicle is safe to drive and if in doubt call our advice and breakdown emergency number which is on a sticker in the van.

BREAKDOWN/ADVICE LINE:

In the unlikely event that the vehicle suffers a defect and breaks down then you MUST call us immediately, during office hours call the main number 0141 336 3186 or after office hours please call the emergency number 07795 906873, this is manned 24/7 and the person will work for us, not the AA or RAC, explain to the technician what has happened and they will either attend themselves, call out the main dealer if the van is still under manufacturers warranty, sub contract another repairer to attend if you are far away or arrange the recovery of the vehicle. We will supply you with a replacement vehicle ASAP, if you are not too far away, we would drop off a replacement vehicle and take your stricken vehicle away in the one go in our recovery truck, minimizing the inconvenience to you. Otherwise we have 24 hours to get you back on the road again in the same or in a different vehicle, we aim to keep your inconvenience to a minimum.
